Windows 8 Secure Boot

Windows 8 Secure Boot. Better and More Secure. Nice!
Windows 8 secure boot greatly improves on security. In Windows 8 you are protected from viruses running at boot-up time. Code must be identified as being good and certified before Windows 8 boots-up or loads. Until now your PC’s environment has been open for viruses prior to boot-up. Many virus makers have exploited this vulnerability by creating what’s called a “rootkit” virus. If a bootable disk or USB device containing a rootkit virus was inserted into your PC and your PC was running Windows 8 your PC would not boot-up. In addition, Microsoft is also requiring that the firmware security policies do not allow viruses from disabling security. When Microsoft ships Windows 8 “Secure Boot” will be enabled by default.
